Say hello to the “Queen” of Buffalo!! As an import from North Carolina Queenie was born for Buffalo! She loves all things Buffalo like enduring all 4 season while only being here for just over a month. Queen loves the outdoors and loves to run through the creeks, woods, mud, snow. Since arriving with her 8 adorable puppies Queen has gained almost 30 pounds now weighing about 70 pounds. She is a lover of all food and is highly treat motivated. She gets along well with the 4 other dogs in her fosters home, ranging from 150 pound male to a 25 pound female. She has also been great with the resident cats. Queenie can be outside with chickens and ducks and does not engage with them and has a calm demeanor towards them. She does not like other livestock (cows, horses, donkey) and will bark continuously at them. We do believe she could learn to ignore them but it will take some work. Queenie is housetrained and sleeps through the night in front of the sliding glass door. She currently is in a spare room during the day when no one is home, but does like to lay in a crate. She rides fairly well in the car and has pretty good recall while on her walks in the woods at her fosters home where there are no cows, horses or donkeys. She does wear a GPS collar during her off leash walks. She has been an excellent mother to her puppies and will probably be a bit anxious after they all leave or she is adopted. She needs a bit of work on a leash but is doing a lot better on a front clipping harness. She loves all people and is overly friendly. She hasn’t been around children and although she would most likely be great with kids she does have a bit of the chocolate lab crazy in her. She now has a zest for life and lives each day with a smile and happy personality. She is pretty calm in the house and enjoys laying on the floor near her foster mom after her daily woods walk. She has a bit of “happy tail” syndrome with the tip of her tail trying to heal. Queen gets spayed on April 23rd but could potentially go to her adoptive family before then. This Queen gave everything she had to her puppies and it’s now time for her to find her happily ever after!!
If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.sadiesrescue.org As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers. More about QueenieGood with Dogs, Good with Cats
