Meet Jasper! This sweet dog has a patch of fur in the shape of a heart, which fits his loving personality and sweet demeanor perfectly. Jasper came to Buffalo from Texas with his 2 brothers; saved just days before their scheduled euthanasia. When he first arrived at his foster home he was scared and trembling, afraid to go outdoors or even play. After building trust he's now a super playful and energetic puppy who loves his people and to cuddle them. His confidence is growing everyday - helping him come out of his shell. Once he builds trust and a bond with you, he is very affectionate. He has so much love to give, and now gets so happy when he sees his new human friends coming to pet him. He is great with kids and loves playing with his canine brother. Right now he is unsure about cats and does occasionally bark at his foster feline friend, but with consistent exposure he will hopefully realize cats aren’t so scary.
Jasper sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, with no accidents at night. He is working on house breaking during the day, but he’s still very young. With patience and consistent training, he will pick it up. He is also working on his leash skills.
In a family with patience and training he will thrive, and it will be remarkable for his forever family to watch Jasper grow into the happy, confident pup that he was meant to be!
Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a puppy, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog. At the time of adoption, the puppy will be current on vaccinations and deworming. He or she will come with a pre-scheduled appointment at our vet to be spayed or neutered that the adopter is obligated to keep. The puppy will also be microchipped at this time. Please consider the time and effort it takes to raise a puppy. Foster puppies are typically NOT potty trained. They require time and patience from their adopter. If you are NOT serious about adoption and have not discussed the possiblility of adding a new canine to your home with ALL live in family members, DO NOT APPLY. Volunteers spend countless hours reviewing applications, calling references, and scheduling home visits. Please be sure you are ready to add a puppy to your home BEFORE applying.
