Meet the Prince! Prince has a real life fairy “tail” to tell.  He was on death row in Texas and once his foster stepped up to save his life, it was found he had heartworm.  After months of treatment, this sweet guy is ready to start his next chapter and find his forever family!

Prince is a happy, affectionate dog with a gentle and loving personality. He is a quiet low key guy who likes to hang out with his foster family and go for leisurely daily walks, unless he sees a critter in the wild, then it’s more of a trot.  He likes meeting people and other dogs and is always patient and well behaved.

Now that Prince’s heartworm treatment is complete, his playful side is coming out more. He will have to be kept on monthly heartworm prevention for the rest of his life, and will have to have a yearly heartworm test. 

Prince is fully house-trained and sleeps soundly through the night. While he’s not a fan of being crated, he does well when confined to a room or left to relax at home when his foster family is out. 

Prince has made excellent progress with basic commands, leash manners, and overall training. He’s eager to learn and will thrive with continued patience and guidance to master his skills.

We believe Prince would do well in a home with children over 6.  He has not lived with cats that we know of, but would do well with or without another dog.

Please keep in mind there are many factors to consider when choosing the right match for a dog, so an application cannot guarantee adoption. Nor do we work on a "first come first served" basis, but rather strive to find the best match for the personality of each dog.

As part of our adoption process, references both personal and veterinarian will be checked. Sadie's also requires a home visit before we adopt any of our dogs out; therefore we only adopt to our local WNY region.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting as placing each foster dog in the best home takes time and effort by our volunteers.
